About the Author
Michael E. Kohel
Michael has been conducting genealogical research on the Kohel family since his retirement from The Walt Disney Company, Disneyland in 1995. He holds degrees in Water Quality Management; Natural Resources Management; and, Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Wisconsin. He has an Unlimited (Life) Teaching credential from the State of Wisconsin and taught at Wisconsin Hills Junior High School in Brookfield, Wisconsin before moving to California.
Michael’s professional career spanned 32 years as a Manager of Environmental Affairs for Ralston Purina Company, General Motors Corporation and The Walt Disney Company, Disneyland. Since his retirement, and between researching the Kohel family ancestry, he has participated in numerous volunteer organizations including the American Red Cross where he is a member of the International Disaster Response Unit (Washington, DC). He is also a Member of the Relief Emergency Response Unit of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (Geneva, Switzerland). Currently he concentrates on national assignments with the American Red Cross and has served as Manager of Material Support Services on over twenty Disaster Response Operations. Michael has also been a volunteer for the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific since 1998.
