( Auclair, Ferguson, Grube, Hörz and Panzer)
by Michael E. Kohel

Over 350 years have passed since the first written record of a member of the Kohel family memorialized the beginning of our ancestry in the village of Praporište in the Domažlice-Klatovy Region of Böhmen (present-day Czech Republic). In addition, it has been over 150 years since our first ancestors traveled to America seeking the one thing not found in their homeland, land to hold title to and call their own.

About the Book

This book includes every translated excerpt, from every parish register researched, on every individual in the first five generations of the Kohel family, that was extracted from the Státní Oblastní Archiv (State Regional Archives) in Plzen, Czech Republic.

This book places special emphasis on our earliest ancestors, and their genealogical records dating back to the early-17th Century. From our ancestors humble beginnings as serfs, working the land in servitude to their lord, to their settlement in America, this book references over 4,250 individuals, representing up to fourteen generations, on not only the Kohel family, but also several related families including, but not limited to, the families of: Auclair, Ferguson, Grube, Hörz and Panzer.
